Verum undergoes successful FDA inspection

Verum Ingredients successfully underwent an inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration at its premises last May. The purpose of the inspection was to verify the compliance of our operations with the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP). The FSVP is a provision of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), which transfers all issues regarding the safety of imported food directly to importers and their foreign suppliers.

Under the FSVP, all importers must demonstrate that their foreign food suppliers meet the same standards FDA requires from domestic food manufacturers, such as HARPC (Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls) and Standards for Produce Safety.

Among the documents inspected were the Food Safety Plan, Food Safety Hazard Plan, a number of declarations from our foreign suppliers demonstrating compliance with FDA’s food safety regulations, and several internal monitoring and verification procedures.

As a result of the inspection, our operations were confirmed to be in compliance with the FSVP requirements. This is a reason for celebration for us and excellent news for our clients.

Our business relies on continuously nurturing a relationship of trust with our clients with regard to the traceability of sources, and the premium quality of the products we deliver. We are pleased that this has been officially acknowledged.
